How to see Alaska for FREE?
UNTUK BAHASA MELAYU, KLIK SINI
By flying with China Southern Airlines.
Everybody knows that Alaska is quite expensive to visit. And sometimes, it is hard to make a living in Alaska if you receiving average salary. Small studio apartment in Anchorage or 30 minutes outside Anchorage can costs you about $850 – 1,000 per month. Not to mention the groceries. Especially vegetables and fruits.
I sell Alaska road trip package and it costs about $2,700 for 2 weeks. So I know how expensive it is for you to visit Alaska even though you already in US soil like Los Angeles or any lower 48 states. The flight ticket to fly into Alaska from lower 48 is like the same cost for you to fly to Europe sometimes. Like seriously.
That’s what make Alaska special. It’s a far reach place and not so many visitors can make it into it. This keeps Alaska as one of the once in a lifetime destination and preservation of wildlife and nature become easier since it doesn’t have to deal with outsiders. From my experience living in Alaska, I found out that there are many rules that protecting the animals and nature compare to human. Haha.
So, for those who wanted to ‘see’ Alaska for free, you can. Provided that you fly into or out from Los Angeles by Southern China Airlines to Guangzhou or Guangzhou as your transit from LA to god knows where you are heading to in South East Asia. The plane route from LA to Guangzhou or Guangzhou transit will be from LA and the plane will go up back to up north along Pacific Coast line, San Francisco and crossing Alaska. After Alaska, the plane will cross a part of East Russia too. And then North Korea then Guangzhou.
Make sure you take morning or afternoon flight from LA. 5 hours fly then you will be directly on top of Alaska! I know this is not enough comparing to walk on Alaska ground, but hey, you can see Alaska with your own eyes in bird’s view mode. It is not bad.

When I travel, cheap accommodation and car rental is my priority. But at the same time I always consider cheap affordable flight that comes with the route that giving me magical view AND longer transit time at city that day tour is viable. So I can cross off the list one city at a time.
As I mentioned before, this flight route cross some part of East Russia too. What I can say is that East Russia and Alaska just like a twin sisters since both of them sit at the same north hemisphere line.
