Place of Interest in Jeju Island : Cheonjiyeon Waterfall
UNTUK BAHASA MELAYU, KLIK SINI.
My post continues with places your should visit while in Jeju Island – Cheonjiyeon Waterfaall. Maybe some of you disagree with my option/ suggestion since my preferences more towards nature landscapes. It’s okay. You can go to the top right hand corner of this page and click that ‘X’ button. Kindly find other travel blogs that write about Hello Kitty World only. Actually, there is Hello Kitty World in Jeju Island and I was intended to visit it. But time wasn’t in our side so, we couldn’t make it.
Cheonjiyeon waterfall located in Seogwipo. A walking distance from the hotel that Mike and I stayed. Only one thing about waterfalls in Jeju is – not swimmable or for picnicking either. It is more for ecosystem conservation. As I mentioned about Jeju Island awarded as one UNESCO Biosphere Reserved in my previous post, this waterfall is more like a park contains plants and animals of unsual scientific and natural interest.
The cost to enter Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is KRW 10,000 per entry. No time limit. You can spend all day here. At night, the falls are illuminated. This place is very relaxing and flat ground. No hiking or climbing needed. Suitable for elder on wheelchair, lovers or those who refuse to sweat.
Serene and beautiful is the word for this place. And if you are lucky, you will be greeted with these 3 stooges birds at the entrance 🙂 The waterfall is small (22 meter high) but it has the long stream with few cascading point serves as favorite spots for the birds to chill.
Overall landscape is very pretty and you can see many type of unique birds fly freely and big fat koi fishes in many colors swimming happily with the ducks. I never saw koi fishes with so many colors swimming in a same pond until I came here. I can say that this waterfall area is like a mini heaven for these birds and fishes, zoo without cages.
This waterfall park area is pretty vast and it has its own amphitheater. During my visit, there was an orchestra performed by Korean students.
Ignore my fat tummy. Front pocket denim overall definitely makes you look like 9 months pregnant when you have all map books, mobile phone and coins stuffed inside.
I don’t know whether Mike and I picked the wrong timing and season, this place, every corner of Jeju Island is full of visitors. Just like in Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, it is also almost impossible to get your picture alone with the waterfall. ALMOST. You have to be patient and willing to queue if you still want your picture alone with it. Considered yourself unlucky if you sit behind mid age aunty with curly hair from Mainland China, because they took forever with million pose and different kind of smile. Sometimes, the one who stand behind you magically appear in front of you in a blink of an eye. Yes, definitely queuing isn’t their thing.
Actually there is not much thing you can do here except stroll, relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. But it is still worth visit if you want to feel rejuvenated after all walking tour days before.
Kindly enjoy the rest of the pictures.
I will post up story and pictures of Jeongbang Waterfall in my next post.
To be continued.
